Every Woman I Slept With Before I Met You is a darkly comedic and brutally honest solo show about a naive young man whose misguided attempts to woo his new girlfriend spiral out of control as he unwittingly reveals his entire sordid sexual history over dinner. A celebration of the foolhardy quests we go on to find love.
The show was originally conceived as a true-life quest for love in itself, an ill-advised attempt by writer and star David Amito to win back the heart of his latest ex-girlfriend. What began as an earnest gesture of theatrical truth telling has evolved into an uproarious one-man show that’s as funny as it is embarrassing. In preparation for the show, which takes the form of a date, Bond and Amito have been inviting strangers on impromptu dates at street fairs all around the city.
David Amito is a local actor who studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York and has starred in the award-wining short films Detective Mark Waters and Beware Pickpocket. He co-founded the STIFFED Film Festival in 2010, dedicated to hidden cinematic gems rejected by the Toronto International Film Festival. Director A.J. Bond is an award-winning filmmaker whose short films have played at TIFF, the Cannes Short Film Corner and Comic-Con.
This is the first Fringe show for the duo and promises to make for a hilarious and revealing date. Come decide for yourself – would you date this guy?
