From Press Release
Spare Drawer Productions Proudly Presents:
Sean & Steven Run For Mayor at this year’s Toronto Fringe!
It’s election night, but this is only the beginning for Toronto’s first mayoral tag-team! Sean and Steven, two misfit
twenty-somethings thrown into the thick of the mayoral pit fight. Are they the voices of a frustrated city or lambs
led to the slaughter at the altar of political absurdity?
Join us this July 4th – 13th at TPM Backspace for the election night of a lifetime. This heart-warming political
comedy with a 40 year-old virgin vibe is a lovable bid for the little guy, especially when the little guy is two little
guys. From the director of past Fringe award winners Men Telling Stories and Shakey Shake and Friends, this
smart, snappy offering is one you won’t want to miss.
Spare Drawer Productions is an exciting new group focused on bringing independent theatre and Toronto’s mayoral campaign race to the forefront of this year’s Toronto Fringe Festival. In fact, opening night, Sean & Steven have teamed up with Olivia Chow for a one night only Tweetup Talkback at Epicure Cafe. The cast is composed of longtime friends and Queens Graduates, Sean Ogle, Steven Suepaul and Nicole Buescema. Directed by Sarah Bruckschwaiger, Stage Managed by Kenett NG and Produced by Adam Pellerine in association with Still & Moving Theatre.
Don’t miss this love letter to Toronto’s own special brand of messed up politics; a light-hearted buddy comedy filled with laughs and lampoons of the city we all call home. See you this Fringe season in the audience of Sean and Steven Run for Mayor: Vote For Us!
