A Depper Kind of Love is a show about a girl who is obsessed with Johnny Depp and is currently petitioning to have him attend one of her performances at the Toronto Fringe. The whole point of the show is to make Mr. Depp realize that she is his one true love, which will hopefully cause him to leave his wife and get on the first flight to Toronto. Forbidden Fruit: Evolution (Limitless Productions) 2011 Toronto Fringe Review
My second show of the day was Forbidden Fruit: Evolution; a musical piece filled with interpretive dance that fuses Classical Indian music and movements with Western Ballet and Modern dance. There’s even a dance sequence set to Madonna’s “Like a Virgin”.
The show begins with five actors telling us a small snippet of their life-long struggle and how they have defied the norm to get to this point. Headscarf and the Angry Bitch (Zehra Fazal) 2011 Toronto Fringe Review
Just walked out of Headscarf and the Angry Bitch and oh boy, what a show! This one woman piece is a fantastic combination of stand-up meets musical meets social commentary, while being 100% roll-on-the-floor funny.
