THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING!
Cow Over Moon brings Chicken Licken to Toronto’s Fringe Festival!
Cow Over Moon Children’s Theatre can’t wait to present Chicken Licken this summer at The Toronto Fringe Festival. From the same company that brought you last year’s Fringe hit Three Magic Wishes and the 2006 hit Three Billy Goats Gruff. In true Cow Over Moon fashion, they will bring a ridiculous twist to the old fable of Chicken Licken and his search for the truth. Find out why NOW Magazine says that the company is: “…a winning combination for young viewers and their parents."
With the help of songs and the kind of audience participation every inner child craves for, this troupe of indie comedians bring this age-old cautionary tale to life in a fresh, hilarious and imaginative way.
“In this version, Chicken Licken is a celebrity who has aspirations of becoming a hard hitting journalist. When he discovers that the sky is falling, he and his friends are taken on an adventure to get to the truth. Caution to the wise: don’t believe everything you read!” says Terrance Balazo, the show’s lead writer and director.
Started 13 years ago by a group of high school students, Cow Over Moon is the only professional theatre for young audiences company based in Mississauga. They have produced shows that have become a tradition for hundreds of families. Over the last few years, this company has been comprised of some of Canada’s top independent comics such as Kathleen Phillips, Katie Crown, Terrance Balazo, Graham Wagner and musician Sebastien Grainger. Their shows have received critical and public acclaim for their innovative style. After the run at the Fringe Festival, Cow Over Moon will be presenting Chicken Licken two more times in the GTA over the summer.
