The Zoo Story by Edward Albee | Touring Toronto Parks – SEPT 2 – SEPT 19

From Press Release

I really like the idea of free theatre brought to a park near you.  And for free.  So, check this out.

_____________

PERFORMANCE | The Zoo Story by Edward Albee | Touring Toronto Parks | SEPT 2 – SEPT 19

Red One Theatre Collective presents a park-touring production of Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story.  Directed by Mac Fyfe (Mojo, The Dumb Waiter).  Starring Tyrone Savage (Wind at my back, RedWall, Instant Star) and Brenhan McKibben.

We’re re-inventing “community theatre,” and bringing this classic play directly to your neighbourhood!  Just bring a blanket to sit on; come out and enjoy this uniquely natural production in your local park.   The Zoo Story explores themes of isolation, loneliness, social disparity and dehumanization in a commercial world.  This stunningly beautiful play is set on a park bench, where two strangers meet and struggle to find depth and meaning in their lives.

Red One Theatre Collective is an artist run, not-for-profit theatre collective dedicated to showcasing both emerging and established playwrighting and acting talent.  We strive to produce compelling, intelligent, and visceral drama, which will remain in the mind of the viewer long after they’ve left the theatre.  Our goal is to liberate theatre from its conventional venues, and use its vibrant power to draw attention and life to developing areas of Toronto.
