This week, we’ve collected five live theatre shows in Toronto for you to see that are PWYC (Pay What You Can). Here are some handpicked goodies to partake in if you’re tired of watching evening reruns of The Cosby Show.

DAY OF DELIGHT
(Clay & Paper Theatre)
This annual celebration of love and courtship takes place at the park. It features dance, theatre, storytelling, a giant puppet and bicycle parade and more. Check out their website for photos from last year’s Day of Delight.

JULIUS CAESAR
by William Shakespeare (Bard in the Park Productions)
The classic tragedy about the plot to assassinate Caesar is performed outdoors in the Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto.

SOMETHING RED

A sexual secret is revealed as two couples play Scrabble, leading to betrayal and revenge.

SUMMERWORKS LAUNCH PARTY
(SummerWorks)
Summerworks is Toronto’s indie theatre and arts festival. The launch party for the August festival features performances by Hannah Moscovitch, Susanna Hood, and SHUDDER. Music performances include TOPS and Laura Barrett. It will take place at the courtyard of the Edward Day Gallery and Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art. There will also be an auction.

THE CARNEGIE HALL SHOW
The National Theatre of the World presents a weekly variety show. Four of Toronto’s finest comic minds get together to make your mundane lives marvelous. The second half of the show is a live improvised radio play. There is a fully licensed bar here as well. Doors open at 8:30 pm.
