The Last ROCK ‘n Roll Show – Toronto Fringe 2011 Press Release

From press release

“Rock n’ Roll’s a magic act . . . there’s really nothing to it, except the illusion.”

Charcoal Sketch Productions
in association with Toronto FRINGE presents…

The Last ROCK ‘n Roll Show
Created By Jeff Jones

Electricity runs through his guitar.  A crash erupts from the drums.  A voice roars across the crowd dying to hear their song be played.  All of this and more comes to life during The Last Rock n’ Roll Show, created by Jeff Jones, running from July 6th to July 17th, 2011.

Facing a self-imposed ending to a career in music journalism, Alanna must write one final review. Instead of enduring the torture of another in an increasingly long line of bland musical encounters, she decides instead to recall the moment she began a love affair with Rock ‘n Roll. And this memory explodes to life onstage all around her.

How could she ever leave this behind?

Equal parts one-woman show and high-energy rock show, Jeff Jones and Charcoal Sketch once again combine hyper-real theatre and live music performance. The TORONTO STAR calls Jones, the creator of Fringe hits, “This Is The Thing” and “Of Enigmatic Things”, “an amazing storyteller” and professes, “more greatness to come” and PLANK magazine describes him as “earthy and unpretentious.”

With incredible new songs by Jones and an unforgettable performance by Dayna Chernoff, The LAST ROCK ‘n ROLL SHOW at the FRINGE will be the last rock n’ roll show you will need to see.
