Afterglow Theatre presents CHARMING MONSTERS through our lens of carefully crafted vision. Original music by Bob Wiseman is sure to delight, and lighting design by Bryan Hall will dazzle.

The Effects of Time Travel on Neurotic Homos

From press release:

You wake up one day in a chasm of space. The air is heavy with the smell of time travel. You are alone….kind of. You are 15 years old, young and full of idealistic notions of art and your future. Beside you stands yourself at 25, a self-proclaimed marketing genius that relishes in the perils of modern day cleaning products circa 2003. You are both there with yourself at 35, sexually charged and unemployed with an iPhone.

Welcome to the Effects of Time Travel on Neurotic Homos, a sharp witted comedy about personal identity and how it evolves with age.

This piece plays at the George Ignatieff Theatre. Performances: WED JULY 3, 10:30 PM; SAT JULY 6, 5:15 PM; MON JULY 8, 8:00 PM; TUE JULY 9, 3:00 PM;  THU JULY 11, 12:00 PM; FRI JULY 12, 8:45 PM; SAT JULY 13, 4:00 PM

Just Lift Your Feet

From press release:

A woman encounters a dying animal on a lonely road, and realizes she is facing the loss of something within herself. Part myth, part reality, JUST LIFT YOUR FEET is a mesmerizing fable of a woman, a creator, an artist who longs to deeply connect to others, to embrace and embody life… but suddenly realizes the connection, the embrace… is gone.

This piece plays at the Robert Gill Theatre. Performances: WED JULY 3, 10:30 PM; FRI JULY 5, 5:15 PM; SAT JULY 6, 7:30 PM; MON JULY 8, 3:00 PM; TUE JULY 9, 8:30 PM; WED JULY 10, 2:00 PM; SAT JULY 13, 10:30 PM

It’s Always You

From press release:

A musical. The day is now. 4:03 PM.

3 people. Bill, Elaine and Ted. Elaine married Bill and they now have a grown child.
Or not.
Elaine married Ted and Ted lost his friendship to Bill.
Or not.
Or Bill and Ted stayed friends and both lost Elaine.

Surely there’s one reality where all three managed to live happily ever after?

Threads

From press release:

In August of 1968, a farm girl from rural Indiana stepped off a plane in Saigon, Vietnam. The people and events that led her there, and her subsequent adventures, make for an extraordinary tale that proves the truth can be stranger than fiction.
