Fringe for Free! Toronto Fringe Ticket Giveaways for Shows on Wednesday, July 5th

fringe-for-free-graphicIt’s the most wonderful time of the year: the Toronto Fringe Festival starts in two days and surely all you savvy theatre-goers are getting the jump on the crowds and checking out the 160 shows on offer, right?

Well as an incentive to get out there and see some theatre we’re running a draw for free tickets to five Fringe shows playing on Wednesday so click “Read More” for the contest rules and a little something about the 5 shows we’ve got lined up for the first day: Wednesday, July 5.

Contest Rules

To enter, send an email to contests@mooneyontheatre.com. Please put the show’s title in the subject line, and ensure we have your full name in the body. (We promise that your email address will not be used for any other purpose: it will not be added to any mailing lists, sold to third parties, or anything like that.)

  • Each email counts as a single entry. If you want to enter all 5 contests, you must send 5 emails.
  • Tickets are non-transferable and are only for the date and time indicated below. Tickets may not be exchanged. Please ensure you can attend the performance listed.
  • All entries must be received by 7 PM on the day before the performance. The drawing will be held shortly after closing, and winners will be informed immediately. Winners are required to confirm their attendance by 10 AM on the morning of the performance.
  • Tickets will be held in your name at the venue box office, available 1 hour before the performance. Tickets will only be held until 15 minutes before curtain: any comps left unclaimed at that juncture may be sold.

Happy Family

A social worker, a business exec, and a guy who lives in the basement, all walk into a park. Their Mom is missing, and they all want to get her safely back to the seniors’ home … or do they? Full of secrets, lies and manipulation, this is just another Happy Family.

Brain Storm

Kate has suffered a brain injury, completely upending her sensory perception and relationship to the world. As she struggles to navigate her new life, she looks to her deceased grandmother, a medium who communicated with the spirit of famous neurosurgeon Wilder Penfield, channeling his message of hope for a conscious mind that survives the physical brain. Told in a physical and poetic style, BRAIN STORM is a visually arresting journey which asks the question; are our brains magic, machines – or both? #brainstormplay #areyouaware

The Resurrectionists

Two doctors find themselves caught up in a new and lucrative business opportunity – grave robbing.
Their first night on the job, unwelcome surprises and unexpected visitors send them wildly off course.

Set in the rural Ontario community of King Township in the 19th century, The Resurrectionists explores the grey area of being neither the Good Guy or the Bad, stories of tragic love, the history of crimes long forgotten, and laughing in the face of death.

For the Love of Pie

Julia Child meets Roxie Hart in this zany solo show about a career-obsessed cooking show host. It’s 1983, and fading star chef Georgia Peach needs to dazzle her new producers. Nothing will stop her comeback – except, perhaps, for the budding young talent living under her roof. Described by Montreal’s Bloody Underrated as “a diamond in the rough,” For the Love of Pie is a dark and funny story that follows an unconventional family in their quest for fame, love, and the perfect recipe.
