Fringe for Free! Toronto Fringe Ticket Giveaways for Shows on Tuesday, July 11th

Fringe For Free GraphicAs the Toronto Fringe Festival rolls merrily along, we hope you’ve had time to take in a wide variety of shows, from the immersive plays to the dance showcases to the sketch comedy shows!

With such a wide variety to choose from thanks to the 160-show output this year, you almost certainly haven’t seen everything worth seeing yet. That’s where we come in: below the cut, we’ve got five more shows up for grabs for Tuesday, July 11th!

Contest Rules

To enter, send an email to contests@mooneyontheatre.com. Please put the show’s title in the subject line, and ensure we have your full name in the body. (We promise that your email address will not be used for any other purpose: it will not be added to any mailing lists, sold to third parties, or anything like that.)

  • Each email counts as a single entry. If you want to enter all 5 contests, you must send 5 emails.
  • Tickets are non-transferable and are only for the date and time indicated below. Tickets may not be exchanged. Please ensure you can attend the performance listed.
  • All entries must be received by 7 PM on the day before the performance. The drawing will be held shortly after closing, and winners will be informed immediately. Winners are required to confirm their attendance by 10 AM on the morning of the performance.
  • Tickets will be held in your name at the venue box office, available 1 hour before the performance. Tickets will only be held until 15 minutes before curtain: any comps left unclaimed at that juncture may be sold.

Seeking RefugeSeeking Refuge

Paul O’Sullivan Prize winner for best script of a new musical 2017 Toronto Fringe. Two sisters struggle to survive amid civil war, left homeless, their family killed. Their only possession of value is their mother’s jewellery — enough to barter for freedom — for one. Can a sister’s sacrifice open the door to a new life? Filled with captivating melodies and relentless rhythms, this powerful musical will leave you inspired by the resilience of the human spirit and devotion of the sisters as they seek to overcome insurmountable obstacles and attempt to re-unite in the safety of a new land.

SNAP!

The world is on its last nerve. But in one small room, one anger management counselor is hoping to make a difference. In these days of rampant road rage, heated political rallies and protests in the street, Snap! is a hilarious look at five ordinary people in a world on the brink of a global temper tantrum.

On July 5th 2017,  a cast and crew of young artists will open Perfect Couplesa new Canadian play that explores the lives of four couples, mainly focusing on one lesbian couple, as they navigate their lives in Toronto while coping with various mental illnesses.

Office Hours

8:00PM on July 11th at Trinity St. Paul’s (427 Bloor St. W.)

Caroline’s boyfriend, Tyler, is back from Iraq and suffering from PTSD. Caroline has nobody to turn to except her English professor, Chad. But when they try to reach out to the young veteran, Chad and Caroline’s own messy histories get in the way, pushing Tyler further from the help he needs. “Office Hours” is an intense character drama that explores the relationship between education and trauma and asks what people need before they can begin to heal. Situated as students in Chad’s class, the audience watches the drama unfold around them.

High Park Noir

2:45PM on July 11th at the Theatre Passe Muraille Mainspace. (16 Ryerson Ave.)

Condo development in High Park will leave its furry inhabitants homeless. If he can get sober, raccoon Detective Dick will expose corruption and save High Park. Will Dick’s dark past and Officer Pussy’s tail get in his way? A trust-fund puppy and burlesque bat complicate matters in this waggish tale for adults only!
