We’ve changed the service provider we use to deliver emails to our subscribers to notify them when new content has been published on Mooney on Theatre.
In theory, it should be seamless, and you won’t notice any difference in the emails you get from us. But…
Just in case, based on years of experience with changes that are supposed to be seamless…
We thought we should let you know just in case things don’t go as smoothly as they should.
Assuming it was seamless, if you are already subscribed, you will get this email and all has gone well.
If it hasn’t worked as planned:
- If you are already subscribed to our email list to receive notifications of new content on Mooney on Theatre, but have not received notification of this post by the end of the day on Tuesday, July 6, 2021
- And you still want to receive notification of new content on Mooney on Theatre
- Add your email address to the subscription box in the left (we will only ever use it to notify you of content)
If you’re like me, you want to know why we’re making the change.
We’ve always used Feedburner to deliver these emails.
In 2007 Google bought the product but mostly left it alone. They started slowly making changes like disabling ads in emails etc. None of these changes impacted us, so we just stayed with them.
In the spring, Google announced that they were dropping the email service entirely in July so we’ve switched to a service called follow.it.
You’re right. I should have done this sooner!
