TIGHTROPE
Written by R.J.Downes and Directed by Kate Fenton
TIGHTROPE is a drama/comedy about family dysfunction and the trials and tribulations of growing up as a member of a travelling show.
Raised in a circus run by her parents, Sheila grows up knowing only the insides of the giant tent. But behind the spotlights, clown makeup and death-defying acts is a world as painful and real as any other.
A sci-fi, romance, action, comedy, classical, thriller, musical infomercial.
In ac-‘TOR, an actor and director are filming their least favourite of projects: an infomercial. Their struggle to get the job done right, while feeling validated somehow, becomes an epic journey through all the genres of drama that they would rather be shooting.

Ever fall in love on the subway? Encounter an apocalyptic preacher? Celebrate with an entire city? Toronto choreographer Linette Doherty uses her life experiences (yes, she really did fall asleep and meet a boy on the subway!), as well as her versatile dance background to convey the fear of a woman travelling alone at night in Toronto; the elation on the subway in Washington as Barack Obama was inaugurated; and the strange and wonderful characters we ride with in any city.
