You know how sometimes you see an opening act at a concert, and you think “Wow, these guys are really good. Who even needs the main act?” And then actually you see the main act, and you’re like “Never mind. Yeah, this is what I paid for.” Head First is like that. The three pieces are all just fine separately, but the third piece so eclipses the ones before it that you feel a little bad for the other two. Fortunately, they’re all from the same company, so I don’t feel that bad for them.
Being compared to Steven Colbert has to feel pretty good. EYE says: “If the CBC’s comedy line-up had an equivalent to The Colbert Report, the show would somehow have to involve Ruby Jones, a.k.a. Harper Girl, a.k.a. Rusa Jeremic. Like Colbert, Jeremic veils her political savvy under an exaggerated right-wing caricature, smartly poking holes in the Conservative establishment, from John Turner to Conrad Black.”

This was a late addition to this year’s Toronto Fringe Festival, which means it’s not in the program, and therefore is in danger of being overlooked.
So, I’m thinkin’ we need to show this Cape Breton guy that Toronto can offer some ol’ support and hospitality. So, check out his show playing at the Royal St George Auditorium, (120 Howland Avenue) on Saturday at 1:45pm.
