Guantanamo Hotels & Resorts Opens November 20

From Press Release

If dark comedy is your thing, then you may want to check this one out:

Pandemic Theatre presents Guantanamo Hotels & Resorts

at The Bread & Circus Theatre, 299 Augusta Ave.

Directed by Jiv Parasram, Written by the Pandemic Theatre Ensemble of 2009, Conceived and Edited by Jiv Parasram, Stage Managed by Matt Cohen & Krista Benjamin, Co-produced by Ryan Cooley, Jessica Rose & Tom Rylett

Guantanamo Hotels & Resorts wants you to come see our amazing renovations! Once a black site, Guantanamo Bay is now a lovely resort and tourist destination. Our entertainment is top-notch: hosted by Republican former TV pundit Bill Blitzer, a visit to Guantanamo Hotels and Resorts is sure to be fun for the whole family!

Our show gives a darkly comedic perspective on how the lives of former prisoners, guards, and their unseen families have become casualties in the most recent ‘war on terror’.

The artists have developed characters based on their own research on the operations of Guantanamo and other detention facilities. They bring this workshop piece to you as one step of an ongoing inquiry.

So come on down to Guantanamo Hotels and Resorts! Be sure to try our signature Guantanamartini, with its famously crisp hints of justice and freedom, as you take in our wide variety of acts that include dancing, singing, and romantic tension!

Jiv Parasram, with his background in political theory and improvisational comedy, leads the production in their relentless pursuit of controversy.

Designed by Liz Daicos, assistant directed by Alex Rubin, lighting design by Carla Bohorquez, composition and sound design by Zach Gray. For more information and a full cast list, please visit us at www.pandemictheatre.com.
