Peter ‘n Chris Save the World! (Presented by Chris Wilson and Peter Carlone) 2011 Fringe Review

This show has received rave reviews from everywhere that it has toured over the last two years and their Fringe opening night was no different. It was a late show so the theatre was less than half full but the deafening laughter made it feel like a full house.

Peter ‘n Chris Save the World! is a wildly hilarious sketch-comedy show that will tickle your funny bone and make you laugh till it hurts. The show pokes fun at the Generation Y attitude and their constant need to be validated and entertained. The A.D.D. and text messaging references will have you in stitches.

Peter and Chris are phenomenal actors and they both play several characters effortlessly. The transitions are well done and the accents are excellent; the audience is never confused as to who they are supposed to be.

They make all the sound effects themselves and other than the lighting, which adds to the mood, there’s no other distraction to take away from their great energy.

I thought the way they integrated dance and fight sequences was genius. The opening number was performed in true Broadway style complete with umbrellas and jazz hands – except it was roll-on-the-floor funny.

They laugh at themselves yet tackle some pretty hot social and environmental issues. Composting, motivational speakers, fair trade and fur are a few of them, but there’s something for everyone in this show. If you appreciate smart satires and laughing your butt off, you will love this show.
