No Time for Dreams – What if you met a Salesman who sold happiness?

No Time for Dreams began as an exploration of the pursuit of happiness. What happens when a salesman arrives at your door and offers to fulfill all of your wants and desires? What happens when you don’t know what you want? In a series of memories and imaginings the salesman sets his sights on Gwendolyn Dodd planning to complete her life by tying up the loose ends of those around her. Her best friend, lover, and the quiet travelling musician who share her home slowly leave, and when there is no one but her and the salesman she is left with what has and could have been.  A harmonization of traditional and physically derived storytelling, No Time for Dreams creates a world of loneliness and joy in the same instance.

Adapted from the acclaimed  poetry collection by Michael Lista

On May 14, 1946 Louis Slotin, a Canadian physicist in the Los Alamos research facility, was conducting a nuclear experiment towards the continued mass production of atomic weaponry. Perhaps by accident, perhaps on purpose, two halves of the atomic core connected and unleashed a hard blast of radiation throughout the lab.

Louis’ quick and agile thinking saved his nine colleagues: it did not save him.
